Inland Wetlands Commission
Composition of the Inland Wetlands Commission
Our town's Inland Wetlands Commission has five members, and two alternates, who each serve a four-year term.
Three of the five members and both of the alternate members of the current board were endorsed by the Bethel Republicans when they were elected or appointed.
Accomplishments of the Inland Wetlands Commission
Over the past four years, the Republican-endorsed Inland Wetlands Commission has:
- Given many volunteer hours pursuing a better understanding of wetlands and their values through the educational courses provided by DEP through UCONN
- Reviewed numerous site plans and subdivisions incorporating many safeguards for protecting the wetlands and have been a strong advocate for the use of environmentally friendly storm water management by the use of rain gardens where applicable.
- Had their decisions upheld in the Courts pertaining to an Affordable Housing Case.
